Refund policy
How to contact us
We take care to pack every order properly. If something isn't right with your delivery, please contact us at info@ilgeco.co.za so we can help.
Damaged or incorrect orders
If your order arrives damaged, is missing items, or contains wine you did not order, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible. Include your order number, a description of the issue and, where possible, clear photographs of the bottles and packaging. Please keep the affected wine and packaging until we have responded, and don't send anything back before we have arranged the return or collection with you. We'll work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with your rights under South African consumer law. Where a return or collection is needed because an order arrived damaged or incorrect, we'll cover the reasonable cost.
Faulty wine
If you believe a bottle is faulty, including suspected cork taint, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after opening it. Please keep the bottle, closure and any remaining wine so we can assess the issue. We'll work with you to resolve the matter in accordance with your rights under South African consumer law.
Change of mind or personal taste
We don't offer voluntary refunds solely because a wine does not suit your personal taste after it has been opened. Any return or cancellation rights that apply under South African consumer law remain unaffected. If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. If it has not yet been dispatched, we'll do our best to stop it and arrange any refund due.
Wine storage after delivery
Once your wine has been delivered, you are responsible for storing it appropriately. Store bottles in a cool, dark place with a reasonably stable temperature, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. IL GECO Wines cannot accept responsibility for deterioration caused by unsuitable storage after delivery. This does not affect your rights if wine was already faulty or damaged when delivered.
Refunds
Where a refund is due, it will be made to the original payment method. The time it takes to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider.
